The Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) commissioned PPG to help prepare a policy position paper on the best pathway to zero emissions for the bus industry.

PPG partnered with BIC to explain how buses are uniquely positioned to lead the transition to zero-emission technologies for heavy vehicles—significantly reducing transport emissions, while helping the country meet its climate targets and creating the highly-skilled jobs of the future.

Our analysis revealed that the transition to zero-emissions buses must be carefully managed in order to protect the economy, including jobs and essential services.

Significant challenges—ranging from limited grid capacity to high costs for depot upgrades—require a coordinated national approach to overcome, to ensure a smooth transition that safeguards jobs, services, and economic stability.

“We have really enjoyed working with PPG. It was fabulous to work with such a professional and responsive team, and the final product is of such high quality.”
Roz Chivers, Chief Executive of BIC
